Bring comfort, presence, and peace to someone at the end of life.
Placita Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to provide non-medical support to patients and families in Pima County. As a hospice volunteer, you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful difference through:
Friendly visits and companionship
Reading, conversation, or life review activities
Respite care for family caregivers
Assistance with errands or light household tasks
Legacy or memory projects
Volunteers are matched with assignments based on their interests, availability, and comfort level. Whether you can give a few hours a week or help occasionally, your time can deeply impact someone's final journey.
No prior medical experience is needed. We provide free, comprehensive training and ongoing support. Must be 18+ and able to pass a background check.

Skills or Experience Preferred (but not required):Empathy and active listening
Patience and reliability
Comfort with end-of-life conversations (training provided)

Description
Placita Hospice was founded in 2024 to provide compassionate, dignified end-of-life care to patients and families in Pima County. We offer personalized support wherever patients call home-private residences, assisted living, or nursing homes.
Our team includes nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, bereavement counselors, physicians, and volunteers, all dedicated to enhancing comfort and quality of life.
