Are you passionate about the performing arts and eager to share your skills in a creative, community-centered environment? The Jenin Creative Cultural Centre (J3C) is seeking a dynamic Theatrical and Musical Workshop Leader to design and lead participatory arts workshops for youth and community members.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead engaging theatrical and/or musical workshops tailored to various age groups, with a focus on creative expression, collaboration, and skill-building
- Collaborate with J3C staff to integrate themes of cultural heritage, identity, and storytelling into workshops
- Support participants in preparing for small performances or showcases, when appropriate
- Encourage participation from a wide range of community members, including those with no formal arts training
- Document workshop outcomes (e.g., brief reports, photos, or videos) to support evaluation and fundraising efforts
Qualifications (Desired):
- Background in theater, music, or performing arts (professional or community-based)
- Experience working with youth or community groups in a facilitative or teaching role
Qualifications (Required):
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity to working in a diverse cultural setting
- Commitment to J3C’s mission of cultural empowerment, community healing, and artistic expression
Additional Details:
- Minimum stay of 2 weeks required, with a preference for volunteers who can commit to longer-term engagements
- Shared, basic on-site accommodations are available for volunteers:
- €25/day for stays under one month
- €20/day for stays over one month
- Includes internet, water, and electricity (food not included)
- Volunteers may also choose to arrange their own housing in the community
- Language support available; Arabic is a plus but not required
- Orientation and ongoing support provided by J3C staff
