Are you an experienced therapist or counselor passionate about supporting neurodivergent children and families navigating trauma and life under occupation? The Jenin Creative Cultural Centre (J3C) is seeking a qualified Autism / ABA Counselor or Therapist to provide psychosocial support and therapeutic guidance for children on the autism spectrum and their caregivers.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small-group psychosocial counseling to autistic children and/or children experiencing trauma
- Support parents and caregivers with strategies to manage stress, improve communication, and promote emotional wellbeing
- Develop individualized support plans using ABA, trauma-informed care, or other relevant therapeutic frameworks
- Collaborate with J3C staff and local partners to integrate services into community programming
- Help build staff capacity by sharing insights or offering short trainings on working with neurodivergent children
Qualifications (Required):
- Formal training and experience in ABA therapy, child psychology, counseling, or a related field
- Fluent Arabic speaker
- 5 years of experience working with children, especially neurodivergent or trauma-affected populations
- Cultural sensitivity, strong interpersonal skills, and a trauma-informed approach
- Ability to work independently and adapt creatively in a resource-limited setting
Additional Details:
- Minimum commitment of two weeks required, with preference for longer stays
- Shared, basic on-site accommodations are available for volunteers:
- €25/day for stays under one month
- €20/day for stays over one month
- Includes internet, water, and electricity (food not included)
- Volunteers may also choose to arrange their own housing in the community
- Orientation and ongoing support provided by J3C staff
