Art of Dance Studio Presents: Dancing Through the Decades - 2025 Recital

Join us for a magical afternoon as our talented dancers take the stage for Dancing Through the Decades, a high-energy recital celebrating music and dance styles from the 1950s to today! From poodle skirts to pop hits, our students-ages 3 to 12-will bring each era to life with fun, vibrant routines that showcase their hard work, creativity, and growth.

This family-friendly event will feature performances in ballet, hip hop, jazz, and more, highlighting the diverse talents of our young performers. Expect a mix of nostalgic tunes, modern beats, and plenty of pink sparkle!

We’ll also crown our AOD Recital Queen 2025, honor student achievements, and host dance-themed trivia for audience prizes throughout the show.

Come celebrate our dancers and support youth arts in your community-this is one performance you won’t want to miss!

Description

My offering to the community comes from a void I felt growing up. As a girl, I wanted to ice skate, dance, cheer, play sports, model, and perform. But being the oldest of three in a single-parent home, those dreams were out of reach. My mom worked hard to keep us afloat, and I stepped into a helper role early on. I never got to participate in the things I longed for.

When I became a mom, I made it my mission to let my kids explore their interests. My sons did football, basketball, baseball, track, boxing, wrestling-you name it. I was always involved: team mom, athletic director, board member, even president. I had planned to start the Rosenberg Ravens football team but found the market was saturated. Basketball was another challenge, so I launched my own league right here in Richmond-Rosenberg to give kids a local option.

After watching how other leagues operated, I researched and launched the Richmond Rosenberg Youth Sports Association in February 2015. Our basketball league and dance program ran for six seasons until the COVID shutdown. We held camps, drives, and other community events.

Though I loved the league, my heart belongs to our dance program, now Art of Dance Studio. We started in a school band hall, but I knew the girls needed a place of their own. In 2016, we found our forever home at 1108 3rd Street in Rosenberg, TX.
