Position Description: We’re seeking warm, dependable Station Facilitators to guide participants through engaging, small-group career development activities. During a 3-hour interactive event, young adults from 9/11-affected and military families of the fallen will rotate through five different 25-minute stations. Each station is designed to promote confidence, career readiness, personal branding, and communication skills.
Facilitators will lead one station topic for the duration of the session. All materials, scripts, and support will be provided. Volunteers are also invited to an evening networking social from 6-8 PM EST.
Station Topics Include:
- Problem Solving & Team Dynamics - Guide group collaboration and reflection on team roles.
- Elevator Pitch Creation - Coach participants in creating and practicing their 30-second pitch.
- Logo Design - Help individuals translate their personal brand into a visual identity.
- Strengths/Personality Assessment - Support strengths discovery and interpretation.
- Discussion Group Facilitation - Lead meaningful peer conversations.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and guide participants through the activity
- Clearly explain the station’s purpose and structure
- Keep time using a provided timer and station script
- Offer support without dominating discussion or outcomes
- Prompt group reflection and individual insights
- Ensure group output is documented (where applicable)
Qualifications:
- Warm, approachable, and dependable
- Comfortable leading small group activities
- Strong communication and timekeeping skills
- Encouraging, inclusive, and team-oriented
- Background in teaching, mentoring, art, coaching, or peer leadership a plus
