Position Description:
We’re seeking friendly, dependable Volunteer Group Leaders to support participants at a career summit created for young adults from 9/11-affected communities and military families of the fallen.
Group Leaders will be paired with a small group of attendees and accompany them throughout the day. You’ll serve as a guide, connector, and encourager helping participants feel seen, included, and supported throughout the event.
Our volunteers are also invited to an evening networking event from 6-8pm EST later that day.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and guide your assigned group throughout the event
- Encourage participation and connection among group members
- Ensure your group knows where to go and what to expect
- Support emotional comfort and inclusive engagement
- Collaborate with staff to identify and address any participant needs
- Be a welcoming, encouraging presence throughout the day
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Friendly, inclusive, and team-oriented attitude
- Reliable and punctual
- Experience in mentoring, leadership, peer facilitation, or similar a plus
- Passion for creating safe, empowering spaces for young adults
