We are looking for positive indivuals and groups to help us serve the community. Come out and lend a hand, share a smile and be a volunteer for the day. No skills required, only a willing heart.
Artportunity Knocks, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through the arts, education, community service, and bridging cultures, is pleased to announce its co-hosting role in the upcoming Back to School Cobb event with the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office. The event will take place on July 26, 2025, at J.R. Miller Park in Marietta, GA, from 10 am to 1 pm. An estimated 7,000 students, families and educators are expected to participate.
Back to School Cobb aims to provide families and educators with a supportive and festive atmosphere as they prepare for the upcoming school year. This year, the event features a variety of activities for youth and families, school supplies for students and teachers, and resources for parents.
WE ARE IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS to serve in the following roles for our event:
- Event Registration
- Event Monitors
- Face Painters
- Concession Stand Attendants
- Activity Facilitators
- Attendants for inflatables
- Setup and Breakdown Crew

Volunteers may sign up for one of two shifts (9am-12pm or 11am-2pm). Artportunity Knocks Volunteer access badges will be distributed on-site to you as well. Volunteer hours will be logged by check-in AND check-out times. Refreshments may be available.

Mission Statement
Artportunity Knocks mission is to empower youth to make positive and smart choices while increasing opportunities in the Arts, Education, Community Service and Bridging Cultures. The organization was established in the Metro Atlanta area in 2007 with a focus on providing stem and arts education that's culturally diverse and accessible to all youth in K-12th grades throughout the state of Georgia.
Description
The organization provides a nurturing and safe environment that fosters learning and creativity during the school year and summer months. Our primary demographic target ages 6-18, with an emphasis on the "tween" age groups (9-13). Our programs currently support students located within the Metropolitan region of Atlanta, Georgia with a reach that expands to over 10,000 students.
Among the specific activities provided at our site are:
- Homework Assistance/Tutoring
- Nutritious Snacks
- Performing Arts Classes: Dance, Theater, Rap/Poetry/Spoken Word
- Music Classes: Instrumentation, Theory, Voice
- Fine Arts Classes: Culinary Arts, Painting, Photography, Fashion Design, Animation
- Technical Arts Classes: Music Production & Engineering, Filmmaking, Computer Animation
- Coding, Robotics, Technology, Engineering, Esports & Gaming
- Physical Recreation: Fitness, Sports, Martial Arts
- Mentorship
We also host positive concerts in hopes of giving not only Artportunity Knocks students, but other up and coming artists an opportunity to perform live.
