WinWinLabs, an education-first non-profit, is looking for a volunteer Scrum Master to help us empower the next generation of talent in the American economy. We believe that the best ideas, with the best execution, can make the world a better place.
About WinWinLabs
At WinWinLabs, we run gamified product development competitions where startup teams compete to bring a product to market. These teams typically consist of various professionals from different fields who organize together around a mission to solve a problem. The teams go through an intensive five-week product development sprint cycle researching, ideating, product designing and developing, iterating, and then presenting their Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with pitch decks to judges from target industry, company recruiters, and hiring managers.
The success of our program helps us:
Bring out the best in our committed members, providing them with an experience of a lifetime.
Showcase our organization’s talent to prospective employers, attracting employment opportunities.
Make the world a better place by solving problems, one at a time.
Strengthen the American economy with top talent and innovation.
We believe that through relentless commitment and unwavering belief, every action, no matter how small, can spark something greater. Every action counts, and together, we're making the world a better place.
Your Role as a Volunteer Scrum Master:
We're specifically seeking a skilled Scrum Master to provide invaluable assistance in the following key areas, guiding our startup teams through their intensive sprint cycles:
Facilitation of Agile Ceremonies: Guide and facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives) for our startup teams, ensuring they are productive, engaging, and adhere to Scrum principles.
Coaching & Mentorship: Coach teams and product owners on Agile and Scrum practices, helping them understand and apply the framework effectively to maximize their product development efficiency within the competition.
Impediment Removal: Identify and help resolve impediments that hinder a team's progress, acting as a servant-leader to ensure smooth workflow during the intense five-week sprint.
Process Optimization & Reporting: Work with teams to continuously improve their product development process, helping them track progress, manage backlogs, and report on sprint goals.
Fostering a Collaborative Environment: Promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement within and across teams, empowering members to self-organize and take ownership.
Why Volunteer with WinWinLabs?
Make a Tangible Difference: Your contributions will directly support our mission by ensuring our startup teams operate effectively, leading to stronger product outcomes and a more impactful program.
Be Part of a Growing Team: Join a passionate and collaborative group of individuals dedicated to positive change.
Expand Your Skillset: Gain hands-on experience applying Scrum principles in a unique, fast-paced, and gamified product development environment, perfect for building your experience.
Networking Opportunities: Connect with product professionals, engineers, designers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
