Description:
Miracle Youth Productions (MYP), a youth-led nonprofit providing applied education through the arts, is seeking a Psychology Mentor / Subject Matter Expert (SME) to help us shape youth programs that are emotionally supportive, developmentally appropriate, and impactful.

You won’t be doing therapy or delivering direct services. Instead, your role is to mentor our student leaders and program developers, offering insight into how today’s youth think, feel, and grow-so they can design programs that resonate with their peers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Consult with MYP leadership and students on youth psychology and mental wellness.

  • Mentor students working on program development, offering input on emotional and developmental alignment.

  • Help integrate strategies that build self-esteem, social connection, and purpose.

  • Support creation of tools for assessing program effectiveness in terms of psychological impact.

Why Volunteer With Us?

  • Mentor with Purpose: Help young people lead meaningful initiatives that serve their generation.

  • Collaborate Broadly: Work with educators, artists, businesses, and nonprofits across the community.

  • Drive Real Change: Help create a replicable model of emotionally intelligent youth programming.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Licensed psychologist, therapist, counselor, or advanced graduate student.

  • Knowledgeable in adolescent psychology, youth development, or trauma-informed practices.

  • Eager to guide and empower student-led program design.

Background Check Notice:
In accordance with California’s AB506 law, all volunteers working directly with students will be required to pass a background check.

Mission Statement

Miracle Youth Productions (MYP) empowers youth through hands-on education in theater, film, and digital media. By managing real projects in production, marketing, technology, and business, students gain practical experience, build professional skills, and develop confidence as leaders, creators, and collaborators. Our mission is to prepare the next generation for success by combining creativity with applied learning in a supportive, youth-driven environment.

Description

Miracle Youth Productions (MYP) is a youth-led nonprofit organization that provides hands-on, real-world learning experiences through theater, film, and media production. High school and college-aged students take the lead in all aspects of our work-from directing plays and producing videos to managing marketing, technology, business operations, and community outreach.

We believe that applied education-learning by doing-is one of the most effective ways to prepare young people for their future careers and personal growth. MYP gives students the opportunity to collaborate with professionals, businesses, and nonprofit partners on meaningful projects that build confidence, creativity, and leadership.

By empowering students to take ownership of real productions and initiatives, MYP helps bridge the gap between education and experience-preparing the next generation to lead with purpose, skill, and heart.
