About She Can Edit: She CAN Edit is a pioneering non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young girls from underserved communities with comprehensive video editing and post-production skills. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and access to professional tools, we equip the next generation of female storytellers with the technical expertise and creative confidence necessary to thrive in the modern media landscape. Role Overview: She Can Edit is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Grant Writer Interns to join our growing remote team. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring grant professionals to gain hands-on experience in non-profit fundraising and play a direct role in securing vital resources that empower young women. Interns will contribute to various stages of the grant lifecycle, from research and prospecting to proposal development and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research to identify prospective grant opportunities from local, private, and corporate foundations.
- Assist in drafting and editing grant proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), and supplementary materials tailored to specific funder guidelines.
- Gather and organize supporting documentation, including program descriptions, budgets, and impact metrics.
- Contribute to the development of compelling narratives that articulate She Can Edit's mission, programs, and community impact.
- Maintain accurate records of grant applications, deadlines, and communication within our tracking system (Trello).
- Collaborate closely with the Founder to ensure alignment with organizational goals and funding priorities.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in a relevant field (e.g., Non-profit Management, English, Communications, Public Policy, Journalism, Creative Writing, Marketing, etc.).
- Strong writing, editing, and research skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, persuasive narratives.
- Demonstrated interest in non-profit fundraising, social impact, and/or the media industry.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets). Experience with Trello or other project management tools is a plus.
