Job Summary

Rivergate Church Calgary is calling born-again believers with a passion for the Gospel to join our Soul Winning & Evangelism Team. This is a volunteer-only position for those who want to step into their calling, reach the lost, and grow in boldness and effectiveness as messengers of Christ.

Volunteers will be trained and empowered to share the message of salvation through various evangelism methods including door-to-door outreach, street ministry, prayer walks, and counselling. This role is perfect for those with a heart for ministry, church planting, or anyone desiring to deepen their faith through practical service and spiritual impact.

• Door-to-door soul winning in local neighbourhoods

• Preaching and ministering in public spaces like parks and outdoor gatherings

• Engaging people in malls, train stations, and other public venues

• Phone evangelism - reaching out to leads, referrals, and follow-up contacts

• Counselling and praying for the homeless, addicts, and those in crisis

• One-on-one conversations and ministry through the guidance of the Holy Spirit

• Assisting at outreach events, helping organize and follow up with new contacts

• Share the Gospel with clarity, love, and conviction across diverse settings

• Partner with other volunteers to minister in the streets, parks, and public hubs

• Counsel individuals who respond to the message, offering prayer and encouragement

• Support the team in training new volunteers and coordinating outreach logistics

• Contribute to social media and outreach materials to spread awareness

• Collect feedback and testimonies from outreach encounters

• Assist with administrative tasks and data entry where needed

• Represent Rivergate Church with humility, compassion, and spiritual boldness

• Must be born again, with a personal experience of salvation and a growing walk with Christ

• A heart for the lost and a willingness to go where the Spirit leads

• Passion for evangelism, intercession, and spiritual transformation

• Strong communication and listening skills

• Teachable, dependable, and accountable

• Open to being mentored and trained in different evangelism strategies

• Comfortable working with people from all walks of life - especially the hurting, broken, and forgotten

• Previous ministry or outreach experience is helpful but not required

• Be equipped and mentored in varied evangelism strategies

• Gain ministry experience that translates to leadership, sales, public speaking, and more

• Grow in spiritual maturity, boldness, and obedience to the Great Commission
