These incredible dogs will go on to support people with insulin-dependent diabetes and other disabilities.
As a CTP, you’ll provide a loving and stable home environment for a future service dog while they attend weekday training sessions at our center. You’ll be an essential part of their final stages of preparation before they’re matched with a client.
Responsibilities:
Attend orientation training
Participate in monthly CTP meetings
Provide a safe and nurturing home
Transport the dog to our training center 4 days per week (typically Monday-Thursday)
Occasionally assist with weekend transport or care during client classes or meetings
Requirements:
Reliable transportation to/from Concord, CA
Availability for consistent weekday drop-offs and pickups
Commitment to providing structure, affection, and basic reinforcement training at home
Willingness to coordinate with staff and follow program guidelines
What You’ll Gain:
Hands-on experience with advanced dog training
Connection to a supportive and mission-driven community
The joy of fostering a dog that will change someone’s life
Plenty of puppy love and tail wags
You’ll be part of something bigger than yourself-helping create life-saving service dog teams. We’ll guide you every step of the way.
