NO VETERAN LEFT BEHIND. Veterans, we need your help keeping this promise. We are currently recruiting and training veterans how to be hospice volunteers with great impact. Veterans on hospice need the unique support and understanding of other veterans at the end-of-life. We believe we can help heal old wounds with meaningful support. Veteran volunteers can also participate in special service recognition ceremonies at bedside. It's a calling to serve in hospice.

Mission Statement
Our mission at Gentiva Hospice is to honor life and offer compassion to individuals and their families when facing a life-limiting illness. As volunteers, our goal is to make today better for someone else. Today, all over El Paso, there are people who are suffering with a terminal illness. With their families, they need special support. The flame of this life is drawing to an end and hospice care is here to help during their most difficult time. We provide exceptional clinical care from doctors and nurses. Gentle guidance, education and support from a professional team of home health aides, social workers, chaplains and volunteers all come together in the most meaningful way.
Description
Hospice Volunteers offer bedside companionship providing a listening ear to a person who needs to reflect, read scriptures or books, play music or simply just "be" with them. The invaluable time volunteers give their patients, also provides family caregivers a much needed break. We celebrate life and moments and are committed to our patients every step of the way.
Volunteering in hospice is so beautifully simple, yet it is an extraordinary act of selfless love, kindness and courage. Gentiva Hospice volunteers are equipped end-of-life training and support for their community service. MILITARY VETERANS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED and invited to join us in our "Final Salute". Veteran-to-Veteran peer support is much needed to help veteran patients with bedside ceremonies and service commendations. Veterans help their comrades find the "peace to rest".
We cannot do this alone. There is a place for you to serve and to make a special difference.
