An experienced and patient FASHION instructor, with a TREMENDOUS sense of humor is needed to work virtually with our Sorority next season (July 2025-June 2026). Planning happens virtually over July/August. Contact with the team begins in September. What is FASHION? Keep reading!

Our Sorority includes young ladies ages 12-16. Their program includes community service, college and career prep, networking, advocacy and outreach, social media campaigns, and social etiquette (including public speaking).

We learned this past season that our young ladies are lacking in self-confidence and presence and given that they represent our organization in several parades - we thought that incorporating fashion and modeling would be a great way to help them develop valuable skills, increase their confidence, and start to develop a personal "brand".

So by FASHION, we mean helping them develop their "personal them". This may mean designing clothes from scratch or helping them zhuzh up something they already have. It means hair, makeup, style - may be even beauty tips. We believe that helping them in these areas will help boost their confidence and help them develop their unique, gifted, beautiful "presence".

We can think through a "culminating event" that showcases everything that they've learned from you. Over the course of the season, I will be looking for high-visibility events to also help them execute what they learn from you.

The ideal instructor has some experience in fashion design, cosmetology, hair styling/care, modeling and has the patience to deal with pre-teens many of whom are going through an awkward phase. Please share your experience when you reach out. No phone calls please.

About SoulPhamm Inc

Location:

7000 Hadley Road, Suite 1177, South Plainfield, NJ 07080, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of young people by providing unique artistic and athletic experiences and performances, and to assist them in achieving the highest standards of professionalism through the development of discipline, skill, confidence, cooperation, leadership, responsibility and character.

Description

Our vision is to promote virtue, equity, unity, justice, faith, charity and a sense of common purpose and brotherhood among all people with an emphasis on the development and advancement of young people through education, athletics, service and the arts.

SoulPhamm was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the state of New Jersey on June 25, 2021 and is the "birth-child" of Coach Luis ("Lou") and Dr. Leisa Herrera ("Mz. Doc"). The organization exists to provide training to young people in a variety of sports and performing arts and unique opportunities to display those talents through competition and performance. By integrating mentoring, life skills, opportunities for community service and academic enrichment to the athletic/artistic program, we help make our scholar-athletes as well-rounded as possible, capable of meeting and overcoming any challenges they are faced with. Although Coach Lou passed away suddenly in January 2021, the official launch of SoulPhamm was held on June 26, 2021, which coincided with his birthday weekend. SoulPhamm will recognize its own founding, as well as the achievements of our young people every year on the fourth Saturday of June, as a tribute to the life and legacy of Coach Lou.
