Assemble infant care items for families in Saint Paul

Create a volunteer opportunity on your own time as you collect and package items for families! The Wilder African American Babies Coalition and Projects training, education, events, and resource distribution focused on building the capacity of health systems in Minnesota to provide culturally sensitive and high quality maternal and infant care to Black and Brown families.

We are seeking three different types of kits to support families we serve: Baby Clothing Packs, Baby Bath Time Kits, and/or Diaper Packs. We are hoping to collect 15 total of each kit type by the beginning of July 2025. You can choose to assemble one type or multiple. Additional details on kit options are included below.

How to Participate:

1. Contact us to express interest at volunteer@wilder.org or 651-280-2460.
2. We'll send you details on the kit options for you to decide which kit and how many to assemble.
3. Then, you can arrange shopping and assembling of items on your own time.
4. We'll set a time for you to deliver packs to our location in Saint Paul.

Kit Options:

1. Baby Clothing Pack: We welcome items in sizes Newborn through 24 months. Please keep all items in a single kit the same size. We can only accept NEW Items. 15 total packs needed, which include:

• • 2-3 infant footed sleepers (sizes newborn through 24 months)
  • 2-3 infant onesies/body suits (sizes newborn through 24 months)
  • One wearable blanket (newborn through XL) or blankets for swaddling
  • One package of baby mittens
  • 2-3 bibs
  • 3-5 burp cloths

2. Baby Bath Time Kit: All items must be new and unopened. Standard size items 8oz - 18 oz. 15 total packs needed, which include:

• • Baby soap (Aveeno or Johnson and Johnson brand)
  • Baby lotion (Aveeno or Johnson and Johnson brand)
  • Baby wash cloths (6 pack)
  • Nasal aspirator (Safety First brand)
  • Baby nail clippers (Safety First brand)

3. Diaper Pack: All items must be new and unopened. We cannot accept partial or opened boxes of diapers. 15 total packs needed, which include:

• Portable changing pad
• 1 box of diapers (all sizes - newborn through size 5)
• Baby wipes (3 pack)
• 1 tube of standard size diaper cream (Desitin, Triple Paste, or similar brand)
