AdvisaCare Home Care and Hospice exists to support people in the most challenging times of their lives. The volunteer is a part of a professional care team that comes alongside patients and families and helps however we can.
WHAT DOES THIS HOSPICE VOLUNTEER DO?
Our patient's family has a specific request for someone to visit each Sunday between 11am - 2pm and be a companion for our patient.
The type of things you can do together?
- Listen to stories and learn about pictures from a photo album
- Have a conversation about their life
- Sit with them and listen to music or watch TV
- Do their hobbies with them
- Get them a small snack or water
- Be a positive and uplifting companion while the family is away each Sunday
If this sounds like something you'd like to do, you will receive hospice classroom training, supplemental healthcare training, and will have a joint first patient visit with the volunteer coordinator fo you are feeling comfortable.
This location is in a Scottsdale home.
