About the Pet Meals-on-Wheels Program

Pets provide unconditional love and emotional support to some of our community's most vulnerable, including the unhoused. In honor of that bond, the OHS Pet Meals-on-Wheels (PMOW) program was created to help pet owners care for and keep their animals, regardless of circumstance. We pack and distribute pet food and supplies weekly from our site in Fremont, CA, partnering with local food banks, shelters, and outreach groups to deliver directly to low-income and unhoused individuals throughout the Tri-City area.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Help volunteers feel informed, supported, and appreciated
• Review and process volunteer applications (1-5/month)
• Coordinate with new volunteers and team leads to schedule first shifts and match roles
• Manage the monthly volunteer schedule and communicate any updates or changes (e.g., weather, cancellations)
• Review timesheets and verify that volunteer hours and monthly metrics are accurate

Skills & Competencies:

• Proficient with Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Drive)
• Professional texting and phone etiquette
• Clear and effective communication
• Ability to follow written instructions accurately
