Mission Statement
We are hospice professionals on a Mission to Serve, to provide Quality and Compassionate Care for life throughout the journey with illness and loss.
Description
Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide sensitivity and support for people in the final phase of a terminal illness. Hospice is based on a philosophy which embraces four significant concepts:
- Hospice is life affirming; it offers us the choice to live as comfortably as possible while in the comfort of ones own home. Hospice allows an individual to be in control of their own care when one can no longer benefit from curative treatment.
- Patients, their families, and loved ones are the unit of care. We have learned that to effectively care for patients, we cannot separate patients from their environment. That environment includes their homes, their families, and their friends.
- Hospice recognizes death as both a spiritual and a physical experience. Psychological and spiritual pain is as significant as physical pain and deserves the same attention. Dying is a natural process of life. Hospice provides the dignity to live life on ones own terms and allows us to prepare to leave this earth in peace.
- Bereavement care is critical to supporting surviving family members and friends. Aria Hospice support for the family continues for 13 months after the death of a loved one.
