Do you have a gentle, loving dog and a heart for helping others? Trinity Hospice is seeking compassionate individuals and their certified therapy dogs to join our team of Pet Therapy Volunteers. Share the unconditional love and comfort of your furry friend with our patients and their families during a time when it's needed most.

What does a Pet Therapy Volunteer do?

Our Pet Therapy Volunteers bring joy and comfort to our patients through scheduled visits, which may include:

  • Providing companionship: Spending time with patients, allowing them to pet, cuddle, and interact with your certified therapy dog.

  • Offering emotional support: Providing a calming and comforting presence, reducing anxiety and promoting a sense of well-being.

  • Stimulating positive interactions: Engaging patients in gentle play or simple activities with your dog, encouraging social interaction and engagement.

  • Creating a sense of normalcy: Offering a welcome distraction and a reminder of the joys of life.

  • Bringing smiles and laughter: Sharing the simple pleasure of interacting with a loving animal.

  • Collaborating with the hospice team: Working alongside nurses, social workers, and other professionals to integrate pet therapy into the overall care plan.
