Unleash the Healing Power of Art: Become an Art Therapy Volunteer with Trinity Hospice
Do you believe in the power of art to heal and comfort? Trinity Hospice is seeking compassionate and creative individuals to join our team of Art Therapy Volunteers. Share your artistic talents and help our patients express themselves, find peace, and create lasting memories through art.
What does an Art Therapy Volunteer do?
Our Art Therapy Volunteers facilitate creative expression and emotional well-being for our patients through a variety of art-based activities, including:
Assisting with art projects: Providing guidance and support to patients as they explore different art mediums, such as painting, drawing, sculpting, or collage.
Creating personalized art experiences: Tailoring art activities to individual patient preferences, abilities, and emotional needs.
Facilitating creative expression: Encouraging patients to express their feelings, thoughts, and memories through art.
Providing a calming and supportive environment: Creating a safe and nurturing space for patients to explore their creativity without judgment.
Preserving memories: Helping patients create lasting mementos for themselves and their families.
Collaborating with the hospice team: Working alongside nurses, social workers, and other professionals to integrate art therapy into the overall care plan.
Why Volunteer with Trinity Hospice as an Art Therapist?
Meaningful Impact: Your artistic contributions will directly enhance the quality of life for patients and their families during a sensitive time.
Personal Fulfillment: Experience the deep satisfaction of using your artistic talents to bring comfort, joy, and self-expression to others.
Flexible Scheduling: We offer flexible volunteer opportunities to accommodate your availability.
Comprehensive Training: We provide orientation and guidance on working with hospice patients, including sensitivity training and best practices for facilitating art activities. (Note: We do not provide formal art therapy certification training. Volunteers should already possess some level of artistic skill or a passion for art.)
Be Part of a Team: Join a compassionate community of volunteers and staff dedicated to providing exceptional care.
