Share the Gift of Music: Become a Music Therapy Volunteer with Trinity Hospice

Do you have a passion for music and a desire to make a profound difference in the lives of others? Trinity Hospice is seeking talented and compassionate musicians to join our team of Music Therapy Volunteers. Share your musical gifts and bring comfort, joy, and peace to our patients and their families during their end-of-life journey.

What does a Music Therapy Volunteer do?

Our Music Therapy Volunteers use the power of music to enhance the well-being of our patients in a variety of ways, including:

  • Playing or singing for patients: Sharing your musical talents through live performances tailored to individual preferences.

  • Facilitating sing-alongs: Engaging patients and their families in familiar songs and creating shared musical experiences.

  • Providing bedside music: Offering soothing and comforting music to patients in their rooms.

  • Creating personalized playlists: Developing curated music selections to evoke positive memories and promote relaxation.

  • Supporting emotional expression: Using music as a tool for patients to express emotions and connect with their feelings.

  • Collaborating with the hospice team: Working alongside nurses, social workers, and other professionals to integrate music therapy into the overall care plan.

Why Volunteer with Trinity Hospice as a Music Therapist?

  • Meaningful Impact: Your musical contributions will directly improve the quality of life for patients and their families during a sensitive time.

  • Personal Fulfillment: Experience the deep satisfaction of using your musical talents to bring comfort and joy to others.

  • Flexible Scheduling: We offer flexible volunteer opportunities to accommodate your availability.

  • Comprehensive Training: We provide orientation and guidance on working with hospice patients, including sensitivity training and best practices for musical interactions. (Note: We do not provide formal music therapy training. Volunteers should already possess musical skills.)

  • Be Part of a Team: Join a compassionate community of volunteers and staff dedicated to providing exceptional care.
