As a Researcher at Mentor A Promise, you will play a key role in identifying and analyzing funding opportunities to support our mission. This includes researching local and government grants, private foundation funding, and special grant opportunities aligned with our work. You will evaluate funders' missions, priorities, and eligibility requirements to determine the best fit for our programs. Your work will directly inform the grant writing team and help position us for funding success.

Essential skills & Qualifications:

- Strong research and analytical skills.

- Ability to interpret and summarize complex information.

- Familiarity with nonprofit or education sectors is a plus.

- Excellent written communication and attention to detail.

- Self-motivated, organized, and deadline-driven.

Commitment:

- Minimum commitment: 6 months.

- Expected workload: 5-6 hours per week, though actual time may vary depending on team workload and ongoing projects.

Description

We partner with family temporary housing sites across New York, educational institutions, and community organizations to create a strong support network for young people experiencing homelessness, helping them overcome challenges and forge their own path to success. We connect students with our mentors for in-person and online programs.
