As a Grant Writer at Mentor A Promise, you will be responsible for crafting compelling, clear, and persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate our mission, programs, goals, and impact. You will work closely with the grant research team to align proposals with funder priorities, and may be paired with a dedicated Grant Researcher to streamline the application process. Your ability to tell a powerful story and present information professionally will help drive funding for programs that support youth mentorship and education.
Essential skills & Qualifications:- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Experience writing grant proposals or similar content (can be academic, nonprofit, or professional writing).
- Familiarity with grant structures, requirements, and tone.
- Excellent grammar, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work with a research team.
Commitment:- Minimum commitment: 6 months.
- Expected workload: 5-6 hours per week, though actual time may vary depending on team workload and ongoing projects.

We partner with family temporary housing sites across New York, educational institutions, and community organizations to create a strong support network for young people experiencing homelessness, helping them overcome challenges and forge their own path to success. We connect students with our mentors for in-person and online programs.
