Heartland Animal Shelter is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and engaging Volunteer Auctioneer to lead the live auction segment of our annual Golden Paw Gala on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling IL. The auctioneer will be responsible for driving excitement, encouraging competitive bidding, and maximizing fundraising for our cause during the live auction portion of the event.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a previous auction experience, strong stage presence and public speaking skills who wants to contribute their talent for a great cause.

• Serve as the auctioneer for the live auction during the charity gala.

• Introduce and describe each auction item in an engaging and entertaining manner.

• Encourage participation and friendly competition among bidders.

• Maintain the flow and timing of the auction to keep energy high and the audience engaged.

• Collaborate with the event team and bid spotters to identify and acknowledge bids.

• Announce winning bids clearly and thank participants.

• Promote the mission of the charity throughout the auction, tying it to the value of the items and the impact of donations.
