Join a forward-thinking holistic health and wellness clinic where innovation meets compassion. We are seeking a detail-oriented, passionate, and mentoring-minded Medical Coding Specialist who is proficient in ICD and CPT coding and eager to bridge traditional medical coding with holistic health practices.

This role also plays a key part in mentoring emerging student professionals, offering real-world insight into medical billing, insurance navigation, and holistic health integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately apply ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to patient services and clinic procedures

  • Assist in identifying billing opportunities to align holistic wellness services with existing code frameworks for potential insurance reimbursement

  • Collaborate with leadership to support insurance coverage strategies for integrative therapies

  • Mentor and train students and emerging professionals in medical coding and documentation practices

  • Support educational workshops or training sessions for new interns or wellness students entering the corporate healthcare environment

  • Stay updated on insurance billing trends, compliance regulations, and holistic care coding evolution

  • Maintain accurate records, audit coding entries, and provide quality assurance on documentation standards

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Coder (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) strongly preferred

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a coding/billing role with ICD and CPT fluency

  • Exposure to or interest in holistic health, integrative wellness, and functional medicine

  • Passion for mentoring and educating students or early-career professionals

  • Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal

  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, compassionate clinic environment

Bonus:

  • Experience coding for wellness services like massage therapy, acupuncture, nutrition, esthicians, or cosmetology

  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and billing software

  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus

Mission Statement

The Source of Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing health, wellness, and education of health/wellness to all individuals in need. We provide hope to our local community with free/reduced cosmetic services and various social outreach programs and empower low-income cosmetology students by providing assistance through educational programs, grants, scholarships. The creation of The Source of Hope’s Education for Hope Program is to advance educational programs aimed at individuals working on getting their cosmetology license or already licensed for Professionals wishing to continue their education in the field of cosmetology. The Source of Hope has other programs besides helping and educating in the cosmetology field. Our mission is to help individuals in need with food, housing, clothing, job placement, gas and college scholarship among other necessities.

Description

The Source Of Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing hope, wellness, and education to individuals in need. We are a dedicated team of volunteers that works to serve our DFW community for those in need such as at-risk families, veterans, and first responders. We have four programs:

  • Education for Hope: We assist qualified students of all ages to reach their dreams and goals. We provide scholarships to low income cosmetology students and facilitate students for advanced beauty education.
  • Wellness Of Hope Clinic: We offer free makeovers to individuals living with HIV/AIDs and low income individuals to help improve their self-esteem. We also provide free haircuts to senior citizens 65+, teachers, fire fighters, police officers, and veterans monthly.
  • Serving Hope: We prepare and serve meals to the homeless and elderly on the 4th Saturday of every month. We work with our local communities to provide hot home-cooked meals, free haircuts, showers, and clothing to the homeless of the DFW area. We also provide free home-cooked meals to underprivileged students in Collin County.
  • Sharing Hope: We organize a food share program in the DFW area by coordinating and distributing excess food with over 27 other organizations to aid in helping needy families. Help reduce our food waste to those in need.
