Volunteer Opportunity: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor

Our Star Family, inc. Community Health Center is the founding home for IRE_TT (IMMERSIVE RECOVERY EXPERIENCE TREATMENT THERAPY). We are a comprehensive community health center dedicated to fostering mental, social, and physical wellbeing across all communities. We offer an integrated approach to wellness through our diverse services: providing accessible, comprehensive healthcare services to underserved populations in our community. Our integrated behavioral health program offers vital mental health services to individuals and families regardless of their ability to pay. By volunteering with us, you'll help strengthen our community's mental health infrastructure while supporting the next generation of therapists.
Position Overview
We are seeking a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with supervisory credentials to volunteer as a clinical supervisor for our pre-licensed MFT associates and trainees. This rewarding opportunity allows you to share your expertise while making a significant impact on both emerging professionals and the vulnerable populations we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide regular clinical supervision to pre-licensed MFT associates and trainees (individually and/or in group settings)
- Guide supervisees in case conceptualization, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions
- Support the professional development of emerging therapists
- Ensure supervisees adhere to legal and ethical standards of practice
- Review and sign clinical documentation as required by licensing boards
- Participate in periodic program evaluation meetings
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary healthcare team when appropriate
Qualifications
- Active license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in good standing
- Current Board-approved supervisor status/certification
- Minimum of 2-3 years post-licensure clinical experience
- Experience providing supervision preferred
- Familiarity with community mental health settings and diverse populations
- Knowledge of current legal and ethical guidelines for MFTs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Cultural sensitivity and commitment to serving diverse populations
- Passion for mentoring new professionals in the field
