The National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) New York City Buddy Walk brings together more than 2,500 dedicated individuals from New York City, the tri-state area and beyond to participate in a one-mile walk and celebrate the many abilities and achievements of individuals with Down syndrome.Participants include individuals with Down syndrome, families and friends, healthcare professionals, corporate and school teams and other members of the community. This year's New York City Buddy Walk will take place at the Naumburg Bandshell and iconic Mall and Literary Walk in Central Park.
In addition to its goal of promoting awareness of Down syndrome, the New York City Buddy Walk raises money to support the education, research and advocacy programs of NDSS. These funds enable NDSS to offer the services that support and enhance the quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Individuals, teams and companies seek donations from friends, family, co-workers and businesses to sponsor their participation in the New York City Buddy Walk.
