Description of Duties: The primary responsibilities of the volunteer will be to maintain the campground area in a clean and tidy manner to reflect the park’s set standard. Positions are located at Boulder Beach, Las Vegas Bay, Callville Bay and Temple Bar. Please state which area you are interested in volunteering.
Grounds responsibilities:
· Rakes campsites
· Trims vegetation and trees using various hand and power tools, such as, hedgers, hand pruners, and loppers
· Removes and carries down limbs and vegetation
· Utilizes a shovel to remove debris from sites
· Cleans fire pits and BBQ’s
· Repairs / maintains irrigation system in campgrounds - replaces hose bibs and valves as needed
· Picks up trash in campgrounds, beach areas and may also assist on boat with lake shore litter pick up
· Operates an electric vehicle and/or light truck
· May utilize a chipper
· May assist with repairs to small engines, using various hand tools such as screw drivers, wrenches, and sockets
· May assist with sharpening various blades such as hedger blades
· Uses grinders and files
· Assist with graffiti removal
· Assist with painting of picnic tables and other structures in areas as directed
· May use a broom or mop in the restrooms, if a spill occurs during maintenances off hours
· May assist with pressure washing tables, benches and other campground amenities
· May empty trash cans, wipe down mirrors, and restock toilet paper during maintenances off hours.
Administrative responsibilities: Performs administrative duty:
· Documenting hours on a volunteer hour log
· Complete mileage logs
· Written communication to supervisor or others about a project/job
