Please know volunteers at Ranken Jordan are held to the following expectations and requirements...

o Be 16 years of age or older to volunteer

o Attend a Volunteer Orientation before beginning

o Submit at least one Reference form

o Receive a TB test at orientation and Flu shot

o Commit to a Consistent Schedule- As a Volunteer, you are committed to volunteering consistently one time a week for two hours. This schedule needs to be consistent for you and for Ranken Jordan each week. We ask that you complete a minimum of 40 hours of service before leaving Ranken Jordan’s Volunteer Program. Our Volunteers are our Partners in Care and we depend on them for the work and support we provide daily.

o "Consider the Children in All You Do" -When you volunteer at Ranken Jordan, your day becomes all about the patients, families, and facility - what the Hospital needs to take care of the patients

o Being Flexible - As a Volunteer, you are committed to being flexibleand willing to do what it takes to provide support. (There are times that deadlines must be met, order of priorities change, etc., and it is critical to access all possible manpower.) Volunteers must be willing to work outside of usual job descriptions with things such as providing sibling care, organizing closets, filling supplies, cleaning, etc.

o Communication - Volunteers must be committed to open and honest communication and willing to communicate concerns to the appropriate staff member. In addition you must be comfortable asking for assistance, guidance, and direction as needed.

If you are willing to dedicate to the expectations and feel you can meet this 100%, please let us know by filling out our online application at www.rankenjordan.org.

About Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital

Location:

11365 Dorsett Road, Maryland Heights, MO 63043, US

Mission Statement

For children from birth to age 21 with complex medical conditions ranging from injury or illness, Ranken Jordan bridges the gap between traditional hospital treatment and home.

Description

At the center of every team is the family. Based on each child’s unique needs, we surround the family with physicians, physiatrists, therapists, nurse practitioners, social workers, dietitians and even a psychiatrist to build the bridge home.

No matter how challenged, a kid is still a kid. Our Care Beyond the Bedside model activates the healing power of children’s natural instinct to play, grow, learn and interact with others.

To continue care for their kids after they are discharged, families often need to learn the same specialized skills that rival those of trained medical professionals. In addition to offering world-class care, Ranken Jordan gives families the practical and emotional support they need to thrive.

Children’s success at home is the goal of our care from the first day. We offer help finding resources for everything from education to transportation. Our community and outpatient programs also provide ongoing care and support for over 750 families a year.
