Rainbow City Performing Arts (RCPA) is more than performances and melodies-we are a community where music becomes a vehicle for equity, representation, and belonging. Every note we play serves to amplify LGBTQIA+ voices and celebrate the richness of our diverse identities. The work of embedding these values into every aspect of RCPA is guided by our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging (DEIAB) and Strategic Planning Committee.

This committee is at the forefront of breaking down systemic barriers while steering the organization’s long-term vision. By joining, you have the opportunity to shape policies and initiatives that foster inclusivity, create accessible spaces, and ensure that diversity thrives within the arts.

What You’ll Do

  • Champion equity by designing initiatives that make RCPA a place where all perspectives are welcomed and celebrated.

  • Develop inclusive policies and best practices that address systemic barriers and prioritize accessibility and belonging.

  • Collaborate on organizational strategies that align with RCPA’s mission to uplift LGBTQIA+ voices through music.

  • Partner with community leaders and artists to ensure broad representation and engagement.

  • Contribute to long-term planning that strengthens equity-focused programs and amplifies marginalized voices.

  • Enjoy thinking big-picture and contributing to strategic, long-term planning.

  • Value collaboration, inclusivity, and the power of artistic expression as tools for social change.

  • Believe in amplifying underrepresented voices and fostering belonging for everyone.

Commitment and Location

  • The committee meets monthly for discussions and planning sessions. Light preparation may be needed ahead of meetings.

  • Hybrid participation is available, with a mix of virtual meetings and occasional in-person activities in Seattle, WA.
