Shape Our Online Presence: Volunteer Social Media Management & Growth Advocates

Role Overview:

The JJ Center Inc., a compassionate 501(c)(3) faith-based organization, is seeking two enthusiastic and proactive Social Media Management & Growth Volunteers to help us cultivate our online community on Facebook and Instagram. These are virtual roles requiring approximately 5-10 hours per week. While the positions are virtual, we would highly value and strongly consider candidates who live within a 10-mile radius of Oxon Run Park in Washington DC Ward 8, as there may be opportunities for occasional local engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor our Facebook and Instagram accounts for comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.

  • Engage with comments and messages, providing helpful information and fostering positive interactions within our online community.

  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to increase our follower base and overall engagement on both platforms.

  • Identify opportunities to share information about our community programs and initiatives in engaging ways.

  • Help keep our sponsors and partners informed by highlighting relevant content and engagement metrics.

  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm creative content ideas and engagement tactics.

  • Track basic engagement metrics and provide insights to help inform our social media strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Active and knowledgeable user of Facebook and Instagram.

  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional online presence.

  • Ability to understand and represent the mission and values of The JJ Center Inc.

  • Proactive and self-motivated with a willingness to take initiative.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow guidelines.

  • Basic understanding of social media engagement strategies and best practices.

  • Access to a reliable internet connection.

  • Highly Preferred: Residing within 10 miles of Oxon Run Park (Zip Codes 20032 or 20745) in Washington DC Ward 8.
