The Race to Cure Sarcoma (RTCS) is the premier 5K Run/Walk series in the United States, focused on raising awareness and important research funds for sarcoma. Sarcoma is a rare cancer found in adults and nearly 20% of all childhood cancers. Through the Race to Cure Sarcoma events, sarcoma patients, survivors, caregivers, medical professionals, and people who have lost a loved one, all come together as a community to support innovative research for better treatments and an end to sarcoma.
Join our movement to help people impacted by sarcoma. Volunteer to support the Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA) by becoming a office & event volunteer! Our office and event volunteer will help to support the Race to Cure Sarcoma event series by:
- Sorting t-shirt sizes for RTCS participants
- Preparing and labeling packets for RTCS virtual participants
- Organzing and packing materials and equipment to be shipped to RTCS events
Volunteer Requiments:
- Must be able lift 10-40 lbs.
- Commit to a volunteer shift of 2-4 hours.
- Must be at least 15 years of age.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA) is to advocate for sarcoma patients by funding research and by increasing awareness about the disease. The organization raises money to privately fund grants for sarcoma researchers and conducts education and advocacy efforts on behalf of sarcoma patients.
Description
Our goal is to find the cure in our time. We do this by:
- Funding translational research grants that will lead to new sarcoma therapies.
- Advocating for increased government funding against sarcoma.
- Creating alliances with the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries to rapidly develop new and better sarcoma treatments.
- Increasing public awareness regarding early detection of sarcoma.
- Educating sarcoma patients regarding access to optimal sarcoma care.
- Advocating for early access by sarcoma patients to promising agents developed for other cancer types.
