Compassionate Care Hospice volunteers offer valuable support to patients and families facing terminal illnesses. Volunteers do not require any medical background and do not engage in medical or personal hygiene tasks.
Our volunteers provide support in various ways. Whatever your passion or interest, there is a meaningful role for you as a volunteer with Compassionate Care Hospice. Our volunteers create their own schedule and typically commit 1-3 hours a week.
We are currently looking for volunteers to:
- Offer companionship visits
- Provide respite for caregivers
- Make weekly tuck-in calls
- Veteran to Veteran visits and pinning ceremonies
- Run errands for patients
- Provide administrative support
- Make handicraft items for patients
- Assist with light household duties
- Light yardwork
- Sing or play an instrument
- Send birthday cards
Professional Volunteers:
- Massage/Reiki
- Music therapy
- Pet therapy
- Art therapy
- Hairdresser/barber
We provide comprehensive training to ensure you feel confident and at ease when volunteering with our hospice patients.

Description
For patients on hospice care, volunteers play an essential role. Whether they’re simply being present with a patient or helping behind the scenes, volunteers help create trusting bonds and meaningful memories for hospice patients and their loved ones. Just as volunteers are important to hospice patients, hospice patients make service work rewarding for volunteers. Hospice volunteers provide comfort, compassion and care for people as they near the end of life.
Volunteering Opportunities
-Remote Volunteering Opportunities
-Administrative: Support hospice office operations
-Bereavement: Support family members who have lost a loved one
-Direct Patient Support: Visit and support patients one-on-one.
-Veteran Volunteering: Take part in Veteran Pinning Ceremonies and other special opportunities to honor our Veterans
-Professional: Share a special skillset or credential you have with patients and families
-Pet Therapy: Licensed Pet Therapy Animals needed (Must provide proof of certificates/accreditation)
-Music: Sing directly to patients wherever they call "home"
