DVCC is seeking volunteers to assist with informational tabling events throughout the year! If you are someone who values learning and teaching others, this may be the opportunity for you!

These tablings take place throughout the communit ies we serve* , including health fairs, outdoor events, and more! Tablings allow people to learn more about DVCC’s mission, what services we offer, and to gather resources. We often include interactive activities at the table , which you as a volunteer can help design! We are open to ideas and your input. and so look forward to the creative activities you offer based on our education topics. Volunteers are also invited to assist with advance planning for the tabling events. Table planning can be done remote ly or in person at either the Norwalk or Stamford office .

This is the perfect way to teach people the important lessons that our education programs are built from , while still havin g fun! You will get a chance to learn and grow, too!

Frequency

There are approximate ly 20 outreach/tabling events per year , usually at weekends. Different times of year are busier, with the beginning and end of the school year being the busiest times. Summer is typically much slower.

Events last 3-4 hours from set up to breakdown

Volunteers must be comfortable moving carts of objects , table and chair, when needed and s tanding up and down.

This opportunity is overseen by our Education Department. They will make sure you have all of the materials and knowledge that you need to succeed and will supervise all tablings until you are comfortable tabling on your own.
