About iLRN The Immersive Learning Research Network (iLRN) is a dynamic non-profit organization serving the immersive learning professional community through innovative programming, networking opportunities, and events. Our mission is to advance the research, development, and application of immersive learning technologies to support learners across the educational spectrum.

Volunteer Opportunity Overview iLRN is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help make our upcoming conference a success! We're looking for individuals passionate about immersive learning technologies (virtual reality, mixed reality, augmented reality and more) who want to gain hands-on experience at a premier educational technology event while connecting with leaders in the field. Multiple volunteer roles are available both in-person at our Chicago campus and remotely via our FrameVR campus. Positions include: In-person greeters and registration assistants Presentation assistants (remote and in-person) Technical support team members Campus navigation assistants (Float team) Event videographers (in-person and online streamers) Time Commitment: Based on role selection, typically 4-6 hour shifts during the conference Benefits:

  • Free conference admission for volunteers contributing 4+ hours Networking with immersive learning professionals and researchers
  • Experience emerging educational technologies
  • Access to presentations and demonstrations when not on duty Professional development and resume-building opportunity
  • Training provided in May 2025

Qualifications: Interest in immersive learning, virtual/mixed/augemtned reality, educational technology, or event management Reliable and punctual with excellent communication skills Customer service orientation and problem-solving ability.

Technical aptitude (level varies by role)

Willingness to learn new platforms and technologies
