Location: Virtual or Hybrid (Preferred local to Columbia/Laurel, MD area)
Time Commitment: 2 hours/day, Monday-Friday between 9 AM-3 PM
About Bernadette’s House:
Bernadette’s House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides a safe and supportive space for young girls from underserved communities to thrive. We’re currently seeking a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to help us manage current volunteers and recruit new ones as we expand our programs and events.
Maintain up-to-date volunteer records
Communicate with current volunteers about schedules and upcoming events
Onboard new volunteers with necessary info and training
Assist with volunteer recruitment efforts (posting listings, outreach, etc.)
Attend weekly check-ins (via Zoom or in-person if local)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfortable using spreadsheets, email, and/or volunteer management tools
Friendly, dependable, and enjoys working with people
Prior volunteer management experience is a plus but not required
We’re seeking someone who is available during weekdays between 9 AM-3 PM, for about 2 hours per day. This is a flexible volunteer position that can mostly be done remotely.

Description
Bernadette’s House, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) faith-based charitable nonprofit organization that was founded in October 2012. Our volunteer staff is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive home-like environment for preteen and teenage girls who live in and around the Laurel, Maryland area. Careful consideration is made to match each girl in our program with a mentor who is dedicated to developing a nurturing relationship that encourages the mentee to venture on a journey of self-discovery and "dare to dream" of a life full of possibilities. Our program is designed to foster the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills that will enable the girls to make life choices that will have a positive impact on their future.
