If you have grantwriting skills and the will to make a difference, you can be key in helping people with misophonia live productive and serene lives. soQuiet is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to misophonia and misokinesia advocacy, research, and support for those who are impacted.

soQuiet is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented volunteer Grant Writers to help secure funding for our vital programs and initiatives. The Volunteer Grant Writers will be responsible for researching grant opportunities, crafting compelling grant proposals, and ensuring timely submission. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of those we serve by leveraging your writing and research skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Research potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with soQuiet's mission and programs. soQuiet has access to grant seeking databases.
  • Collaborate with soQuiet staff to gather necessary information for grant applications.
  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all grant applications are completed accurately and submitted by deadlines.
  • Maintain organized records of grant applications and outcomes.
  • Potentially assist with reporting requirements for successfully funded grants.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in grant writing is highly desirable, but not strictly required. Passion for soQuiet's mission and a willingness to learn are essential.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit organizations and fundraising practices is a plus.

Time Commitment & Location:

Flexible-- though we anticipate that around 5-10 hours per week would be needed.

All soQuiet volunteers are remote and can work from anywhere.
