Mission Statement
Train, mentor, and support vulnerable young students in Benin (West Africa), especially in underserved communities, to empower them to become self-reliant leaders and entrepreneurs who are committed to transforming their own lives and building their communities.
Description
Echelle Benin is a non-profit student empowerment organization registered in the Republic of Benin (West Africa). It was founded in 2020 by a group of Benin citizens, many of whom live in the United States. We are supported by a network of volunteers from around the world. We envision the youth in Benin to be empowered and inspired to succeed in life and engage in finding solutions to social problems in their communities.
We have received funding from the U.S. Department of States on multiple occasions to execute soft skills and civic leadership projects to empower young students through after-school training, mentoring, and career immersion programs in the areas of personal development, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.
We offer a paradigm shift, moving away from the limited power of handing out material goods and money, to instead focus on making sustainable impacts through change envisioned and realized by the individual and the community itself.
