OUR HOSPICE HOUSE IN BURLESON IS A 6 BED IN-PATIENT UNIT. WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS THAT WOULD BE INTERESTED IN BAKING COOKIES IN OUR KITCHEN ONCE A WEEK AND OFFERING THEM TO FAMILIES THAT ARE SITTING WITH LOVED ONES. WE ALSO HAVE AN ART CART AND SNACKS THAT WOULD BE OFFERED AS A WAY TO HELP MAKE THEIR TIME IN OUR FACILITY MORE COMFORTING. TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED. TWO HOURS A SHIFT, IF POSSIBLE, WOULD BE IDEAL.

Description
In 1996 leaders from Harris Hospital, The Daughters of Charity (now Ascension Providence), and Huguley Hospital (now a Texas Health Resource partner) all had a vision. They dreamed of creating a not-for-profit community-based hospice dedicated to providing the highest quality end-of-life care services for children and adults across the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Waco communities.
That dream became a reality on May 1, 1996, when the largest not-for-profit hospice in the state was formed as Community Hospice of Texas in the DFW area and
As the largest not-for-profit hospice and palliative care organization in Texas, we are proud to offer adult and pediatric palliative care and hospice services to our patients and their families.
As the first pediatric hospice provider in the DFW and Waco areas, we pioneered care for children facing a life-limiting illness. Today, our Little Doves Pediatric Hospice Program serves children from pre-birth to young adulthood, and we remain the sole provider of pediatric hospice care in the Waco area.
