Save the Chimps operates one of the largest chimpanzee sanctuaries in the world. Located on 150 acres in Fort Pierce, FL, the sanctuary provides lifetime care and enrichment for chimpanzees rescued from research laboratories, the pet trade, and entertainment industry.
Hundreds of blankets and washed and hung daily to provide our residents with clean, dry nesting materials. Laundry volunteers make this possible visiting each chimpanzee building and hanging the clean laundry to dry on the lines outside.
No experience required - training is provided! This is an outdoor assignment. Volunteers will use sanctuary golf cart for transportation.
Daily shifts from 10am-2pm.

- Driver's License Needed
- Must be at least 18
- Orientation or Training
- 4 hour shifts (weather permitting)
- Must attend a 4-hour volunteer orientation and safety training class. Volunteer vaccine requirements: 1. Covid Vaccine (2 initial vaccinations) 2. Negative TB test (annual) 3. Tetanus (every 10 years) 4. Flu vaccine (beginning Fall 2025)
