Join the rappelling fun as a volunteer by being a part of the team that helps others go Down For The Challenge for a cause. This special event is an effort to raise funds to support our homeless prevention programs. Rappellers are raising funds to rappel down 14 stories from the Omni Vikings Lakes hotel on Saturday, July 26.

Volunteers are needed to support our rappelers and other event details in a variety of ways. Roles can be selected as we finalize those details, some may include:

  • Registration
  • Staging and guiding rappelers
  • Assisting with sanitizing and returning gear to staging areas
  • Plaza activities and more!

This event will mostly be outdoors and requires a lot of standing and moving for prolonged periods of time. There will be limited indoor and seated roles, please let us know if you would require one of these roles. Training will occur at the start of your shift and lunch and snacks will be provided.

Description

The Salvation Army offers social services and recreational programs with the goal of addressing specific physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of each family, individual, child/youth, or elderly person. Services provided include, but not limited to: emergency food shelves, school supply programs, rental/utility assistance, educational programs, outreach to the homeless, family and youth camping, community center programs, Christmas assistance programs, nursing home visitations, corrections programs, and disaster services.
