Recreational Volunteers at the TGR Learning Lab play an important role in supporting the planning and delivery of engaging recreational experiences for students. All AUHSD student applicants have top priority however, all are welcomed to apply! Volunteers assist staff in monitoring and facilitating activities during our Day Program and Expanded Learning Program, including recreation time and golf instruction. Under the guidance of our Golf and Recreation Staff, volunteers help ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all students. This role may also involve supervising students during special events or group activities, promoting teamwork, active participation, and respectful behavior.
Requirements:- Must be at least 16 years of age or older
- Must work well with students Grades 5-12
- Interview
- Background check required (18 or older)
- Orientation and Training
- MANDATORY Training on June 16-18 from 2PM-4PM
- Commitment for summer programing duration (JUNE 2- JULY 31)
- Programming: Monday-Thursday and Saturday
- No Programming on June 19 and July 4th
- Summer Volunteer Hours:
- Day Program: 8AM-1PM
- Expanded Learning Program: 12:30PM-4:30PM
- Both: 9:00AM-4:30PM

Description
Specific programs of the foundation include the TGR Learning Lab, a one-of-a-kind, 35,000-square-foot education facility custom-built for underserved youth within Southern California. Everything at the TGR Learning Lab is about active participation and hands-on learning. Scholars in grades 5-12 experience college-access programs focused on science, technology, engineering and math. Interactive classes - in subjects ranging from rocketry and marine biology to graphic design and coding - allow students to explore a future in almost any career and recognize the importance of attending college.
