ORGANIZATION: Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc.

It's no secret; they're doggone cute!

OVERALL SUMMARY:

This role provides professional level sewing skills towards creating and repairing kennel beds and other supplies used in the CWN whelping kennel at the Puppy Center.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Have present or past professional sewing skills and able to work independently.

· Understand basic sewing construction for items such as pillowcases and puppy bed covers.

· Have access to a standard sewing machine or additionally an industrial sewing machine capable of sewing through ½" to ¾" fleece material and batting.

· Ability to hand sew items that don’t require use of a machine.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

· Able to drive to GDB campus to pick up sewing projects and return them on an identified schedule 1-2x per week.

· Pick up large bed covers/ other items at GDB campus and repair them at home.

· Coordinate projects with a CWN Dept Supervisor either by phone or email.

· Document work hours in the Better Impact Volunteer Data Base monthly.
