Mission Statement
New Vision Organization is a 501 (C) (4) nonprofit Organization, advocating for incarcerated first-time offenders of any offense who are serving Life and Life Without Parole. Our vision is to reduce the recidivism in U.S. Prisons, bring hope to the hopeless and to rehabilitate, heal and bring hope for the incarcerated who made one mistake. The U.S. is the only country in the world with mass incarceration and prisons are being used to house the mentally ill and addicted, rather than sentencing the stumbled to Long-Term Residential Treatment Facilities. In addition, many incarcerated were victims themselves prior to becoming offenders. We need to help and not judge as every individual has a story behind the fall.
Description
NVO volunteer advocates assist with the following services, although not limited to making calls and referrals on behalf of the incarcerated clients, they assists Life/LWOP individuals in accessing Supportive Resources, including Pro Bono Criminal, Appellate, Post-Conviction and/or Civil Rights' Lawyers, willing to help with their needs. We also work with other Organizations and Groups to work towards Criminal Justice/Prison Reform. In addition to Parole Reform and other imperative changes that need to occur. The U.S. is the only Country in the World having mass incarceration and it needs to change.
