About MY FAMILYS TABLE

Location:

7360 N HOYNE AVE APT 3, CHICAGO, IL 60645, US

Mission Statement

My Family's Table's goals are to tackle food insecurities through education and healthy food options while bringing awareness to the importance of communication during mealtime.

Description

In creating our organization, we kept our most vulnerable community in mind. With the support of the community, it is our goal and desire to provide families with the necessary skills to prepare nutritious, filling, and palatable meals. We observed that many families in our community feel nutritional meals aren't tasty or filling. By providing our service, we hope to change this narrative.
Some of our recent events include: Our organization has provided hot meals to 30 families in the Rogers Park, West Ridge, Edgewater, and Uptown neighborhoods. We also provide bagged groceries to over 50 homeless people in the neighborhood living in tents. For the homeless, sufficient canned foods and sufficient supplies of water are vital necessities. The next step is to provide families with live educational demonstrations to ensure accuracy and adequate nutrition. It is our goal to supply each family with identical food supplies to replicate the real-time food demonstration. The purpose of this demonstration is to provide families with nutrition information and the skills to incorporate vegetables into their regular meals with minor healthy adjustments.
