Our Goal

The Teachers & Students Empowerment Network Festival was created with the belief that every child should begin the school year feeling prepared and self-assured. When a child feels confident, their chances of success greatly increase.

We Provide

A fun and welcoming atmosphere filled with essential school supplies, brand-new shoes and socks, backpacks, haircuts, engaging activities, valuable resources, and nutritious food-all provided with dignity and respect.

We provide much-needed support to local parents striving to make ends meet while equipping educators with essential resources to help their students thrive.

We Encourage

We encourage active community involvement through donation drives, volunteer opportunities, and participation in the festival. Our goal is to create a collaborative event where individuals from all backgrounds unite to support local students, ensuring they feel confident and prepared for the school year ahead.

We welcome churches and community organizations to set up activity and information booths, providing families with valuable resources while inspiring students for the new school year. These interactive booths play a vital role in making the festival a lively and engaging event, with activity stations being among the most popular attractions. Back-to-school shopping should be an enjoyable experience for all, regardless of financial circumstances. The Back-to-School Festival transforms what can often be a stressful task into a fun and memorable event, ensuring that every student has access to the supplies they need.

We Help

We support families in Cabell County, WV, and surrounding areas who are facing financial challenges in preparing their children for the new school year. The cost of school supplies alone can exceed $180 per child, not including clothing and footwear, placing a significant financial strain on middle- and low-income households. Our goal is to ease this burden and ensure every student starts the year equipped for success.

In other states where this event has been established for years, reports show families lining up as early as two hours before the festival begins. At one event, nearly 1,500 children, accompanied by their parents, attended-underscoring the significant need for the Back-to-School Festival. In total, over 2,000 people participated, enjoying games, free snow cones and cotton candy, and interactions with beloved local school mascots. The event was met with overwhelming gratitude from parents and excitement from children. Additionally, we collaborate with school social workers to ensure that supplies reach students who are unable to attend in person.

Mission Statement

The Teachers & Students Empowerment Network promotes educational equity by offering free resources that empower both educators and students to achieve success.

Description

We recognize that access to school supplies directly contributes to student success. By equipping students with the proper tools, we empower them to stay engaged, participate confidently in lessons, and reach their academic goals. Our resources have an immediate and meaningful impact on both students and teachers in underserved communities.

For educators, TheTeachers & Students Empowerment Network helps alleviate the financial burden of purchasing classroom supplies. Teachers often spend between $500 to $1,500 of their own money each year to bridge the gap in resources. By providing these essential materials, we enable teac hers to focus on what matters most creating an effective and equitable learning environment where every student can thrive.
