ORGANIZATION: USDA Forest Service

Bird Banding Volunteers Needed for Bitterroot National Forest

Volunteers will be trained to assist professional biologists in capturing and banding birds at 2 sites. This project will start in late May and run through early August. We need one or two days per week for the duration of the season, and will require very early mornings between Hamilton and Darby, MT. They will learn to handle and take measurements of the birds for inclusion in the national banding program and database. The Bitterroot NF banding stations have been operated each year since the early 2000s.
