As an HRBP for Implicit Marginalia, you are the bridge between our mission and our people. You will design and nurture a thriving volunteer ecosystem, ensuring that each individual-whether new or longstanding-finds meaning, support, and growth within our collaborative environment. Your work enables volunteers to contribute to a project that is redefining the future of reading and knowledge

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement onboarding, engagement, and retention processes tailored to the unique needs of a dynamic, distributed volunteer community.

• Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to volunteers and team leads, supporting their well-being, growth, and sense of belonging.

• Facilitate regular check-ins, feedback loops, and recognition programs that celebrate contributions and foster a culture of learning and inclusion.

• Collaborate with project and technical leads to anticipate talent needs, resolve challenges, and ensure alignment between people and project goals.

• Maintain and update clear, inspiring role descriptions and expectations, drawing on best practices and our own evolving documentation.

In recent months, the departure of our previous people management team created a gap in the support, onboarding, and engagement of our hundreds of volunteers. • Reconnect with existing volunteers and welcome new ones, helping everyone transition smoothly into the revitalized community.

• Build feedback and recognition systems that acknowledge the unique contributions of those who have sustained us through change.

• Serve as a culture carrier, ensuring that our restart is inclusive, transparent, and energizing for all.
