Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back-to connect with others, nurture community, and create something beautiful?

Saint Leonard’s Ministries invites you to join our Root & Reclaim Gardening Club -Reconnect with the land and reclaim one’s life.

This is a volunteer opportunity where your hands can help grow more than just plants. Together, we’re transforming the garden at Saint Leonard’s Ministries into a space of healing, hope, tranquility, love, and connection.

This garden will be a peaceful, judgment-free place where individuals can build lasting relationships, find purpose, and experience community through nature and fellowship.

What you’ll help with:

* Planting flowers and maintaining garden beds

* Removing weeds and overgrowth

* Replacing rocks and laying mulch

* Maintaining and replacing sod

* Landscaping and beautifying our courtyard and green spaces

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just someone with a passion for helping others, we welcome your time, your energy, and your heart.

About Saint Leonard’s Ministries:

Since 1954, we’ve supported individuals (men & women) returning from incarceration with transitional housing, case management, mental health support, substance use counseling, and access to an free onsite health care (in partnership with Rush College of Nursing), and education and workforce training. Our mission is simple: to empower formerly incarcerated individuals to lead whole productive lives.

Description

Believing individuals want to lead productive and whole lives, St. Leonard’s Ministries provides a setting in which men and women recently released from prison can achieve such a life. Residents are provided with an array of program services designed to assist them as they make the transition to successful, independent living. During their stay at St. Leonard’s House, Grace House and St. Andrew’s Court, residents are helped to reassess value systems, to reorder priorities and to develop socially and legally acceptable patterns of behavior.
