POSITION SUMMARY

The Event Volunteer is a regular volunteer who is willing to assist the Event Coordinator with organizing events for the Soldiers' Angels Community Support Program. This includes regular events, Food Pantry events, and special events as approved by the Area Director or appropriate staff supervisor. This position’s success should ultimately result in volunteers with a deeper engagement and commitment to Soldiers’ Angels who feel fully supported and appreciated, service members who feel properly appreciated, and thorough policies in place.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for assisting the Event Coordinator with organizing events for Soldiers’ Angels in support of the local VA Hospitals and other community events as well as oversight of Angels participating in events.

· Help plan regular events for veterans and service members (e.g. luncheons, pizza parties, Bingo, movie nights) to help boost morale.

· Responsible for making sure that all volunteers are aware of policies and procedures to ensure a consistent quality of service, and to set clear expectations of each volunteer.

· Coordinating with volunteers to ensure they have all the important information to successfully volunteer for upcoming events. Ensure that all events have the adequate number of volunteers signed up to help with the success of the event.
